The laser was discovered by scientist Theodore Maiman in 1960. Wow, so much has happened with laser light energy since then ! You probably don't even think much about it but lasers are everywhere. The scanner at the grocery check out, your cd and dvd palyers, phones, pointers,guided missiles, lasers are everywhere including healthcare. Ted Maiman spent the last years of his life traveling the world and visiting healthcare providers including dentists to see what they have done to help patients with variations of his laser discovery.
